Marxism and politically paralyzed Bengal:

Posted: April 20, 2010 in of puranas and politics

“Marxism is the system of socialism of which the dominant feature is public ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange.”

Sounds good isn’t it? What else could a common Indian public demand more from this? We are a bunch of self  satisfied cowards who never have the desire of anything else than the 3 basic needs of life.“रोटी,कपड़ा ओर मकान.” So Marxism could be the ideal philosophy to us as it stresses on these basic things by shouting for equality and right of living like a human. What is all a “বাঙালি বাবু ” needs?

But then why even 35 years of Marxist government could not satisfy our lust of living??

Answer is simple isn’t it? All the politicians are corrupt….as all will say.

But have we ever considered that there could be other reasons to. How many of you have thought about making Marxism bengalised???

On this one would probably say what a rubbish I am talking about a global ideology as whatever is told by Marx is applicable to each and every possible society unaltered..But let me halt you on this very note and made you understand a clear point of view   “there is no Marxist philosophy and there never will,on the other hand,Marx is more important for philosophy than ever before” (Etienne Balibar in 1993) this self contrasting remark surely gives anyone’s mind a jerk..But you will be flattered to know Karl Marx said;“The philosophers have only interpreted the world,in various ways;the point is to change it”..This means rather than indulging ourselves into any kind of theoretical “ঝামেলা ” we should focus on having practical “करिश्मा”…As Aamir Khan said “aal izz well”……..

Hahaha….plz don’t force yourself away from this blog thinking it is a waste of time..All I want to tell is being a student myself it is not possible for me to give any new horizon of ideology rather I am trying to make a point on how we could share our responsibility in the way to build a Bengal which is truly politically rather good to say philosophically independent..We have to tell us and made us believe that no foreign ideology however famous it could save our face if we are not sensible enough to carry our own burden of thoughts..

Just take an example:
What were the Marxist views of religion? Marx wrote, “Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the feeling of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless circumstances.”  But we all know how much we do care for our respective religion not only in Bengal but throughout India. Within a day we could not possibly free us from all caste prejudices but we could try to make us believe a simple logic that   the only possible religion of poor is starvation. No matter what govt. proposed for a certain community the actual situation remains the same…

This would not change until we ourselves be politically activated…It is easy to sit on a easy chair, nurturing a local news paper and comment mindlessly “এ দেশের কিছু হবে না, নেতারাই সব মেরে দিল” (nothing would happen to this country the politicians  steal everything) but the actual guts are showed when one try to be a politician if one think he/she can do better if he/she would have been in the same place…As the great Novelist Bankim once told; “সমালোচনার অধিকার তারই আছে ,যে রচনা করতে সক্ষম ” (One is only eligible to criticize if he/she can create).

Marxism allows us to recreate it there by making it perfect w.r.t. our society and mental structure. What no other political background does. There for it is according to me the only alternative to it is itself if we edit it properly..And by this recreation I mean bengalising Marxism as you heard me telling this before. So my only request to my social networking frnds is that plzz first of all update your info where you have written :”political view-non political” becoz it is due to this we are lagging behing otherwise the son/daughter of the soils where from Kshudiram Bose  to Surya Sen ,from Tagore to Sukanta, from Acharya Jagadish to Ananda Mohan Basu  born needs nothing more than a cause to fight for themselves..Let the lamentation of the great poet get vanished ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

“সাত কোটি সন্তানেরে, হে মুগ্ধ জননী. রেখেছ বাঙালি করে, মানুষ করনি”

I barely possess knowledge about Marxism as I realize it is not a easy thing to describe in a word. But one thing I must mention that to have a better country as well as a better society we all should take responsibility to build a better society.
Instead of criticizing why don’t we protest all adverse things happening around us, definitely in a smarter way. We must maintain the rule and regulation of our society and do protest whenever we find someone spifflicating these.
One things is essential to mention that being a apolitical one couldn’t endue the responsibility of mending our society. One must have knowledge who could be better choose to govern our country. Not being an egoistic, we must cast our vote considering the greater benefit for our society.
If one say no one from our present politician is deserve that responsibility so I better off quitting the voting process then I ask him/she to choose better from the bad but not to quit from vote if you don’t have the guts to be in politics.
That could be a better way for us, the future of our country, to do little for our country maintaining own personal life uninterrupted.

We are all carrying our heritage and any new outsource philosophy can only give us a view or it can help us to think out of the box. But after all we are doing, which best for us and matching our culture. Carrying Marxism in Bengal might be well during the time of Naxal movement in the time of insurgencies. But due course of time the need of Bengalis were changed. Now we not only need “Roti, Kapra or Makan” but we need jobs, spend money, enjoy, happiness after all peace.
In Bengal those Marxism philosophy spared in the villages but did not able to attract the new urban generation. Earlier we can see the mostly scholars of universities were involve in the Communist polities. But now there are very few. Our Comrades did not update themselves to the level.
Actually there should not be any Bengalese Marxism. Marxism is totally outsourcing philosophy for us. That’s the reason it belongs only three states in the India and very few countries in the world. It may be scientific but does not exist before our old culture and heritage. As an example already given by Mr. Nitish mentioning on the Religion aspect.

Our needs have been changed in urban areas but still there are many region in Bengal as well as in India where these three basic needs are the matter of main concern. Although in case of Bengal, being in governing position for more than 30 years with minimum no. of oppositions the communists are yet to implant there policy to solve out the deficiency of three basic needs throughout the West Bengal.

So, definitely it is quite visible that we all need a change of policies for the better improvement. Although from 2000 under the leadership of our present Chief Minister, the Communists of Bengal start to think beyond their three basic needs policy, but for the lack of appropriate implementation method all the progresses seem to halt at least till 2011.

From my point of view, an uniform policy for all would not help Bengal to fulfill everyone’s demand. I doubt whether its ” ROTI,KAPRA our MAKAN”( Bread, cloth and shelter) or “MAA, MATI, MANUSH”( mother, land and people) would help Bengal to stand at the first row. So, my suggestion to all existing political parties of Bengal to re-concern their policies with the help of some philosophies and economists taking a key point that PEOPLE NEEDS ARE CHANGE WITH THE CHANGE OF REGION.
